Byron Velvick swimbait

The other day i looked very hard at a swimbait and it is the Byron Velvick line through. Can anyone tell me about this line through thing not sure i get it. Meaning whats the purpose and how its used? I like the look of it didn't buy it yet but im very tempted.

The BV 3D by Jerry Rago. Great looking bait and Byron Velvick Knows how to use it. The Owner Stinger hook Is a must on these things. The line through idea is so the bait slides up the line and not get tore up. Awsome clear lake bait! work It super slow with short pauses.

Awesome thanks i was thinking about the hitch and the kokanee also so when i make it to Bullards bar sometime. I think ill get one!
