This is our first 2-day club event and should be a blast for those who can make it. If you want to be in the running for our year-end awards, this is the event to fish.

Get all the details here. June 11 update message from TD Mike: We will launch out of Konocti Vista (877-577-7829). Ask for the bass fisherman's rate of $69.00 a nite. They have electricity on the dock which is very nice. I have tied my boat up many times there. We now have 5 boats with 3 teams staying at the motel. We will have a barbecue in the RV parking area. Bring your own food if you want--we will have a little Webber fired up. I am going up Thurs nite. Fishing should be off the wall. Big fish for the Year fishing pole award will come from this tournament. Big Mike TD.

June 14 update from Big Mike: Mike says that if you stay at the Koncti Vista hotel they will do a quagga mussel inspection for $10 when you check into the hotel. No fuss no muss.

If you want to go but do not have a boat or a fishing partner, post here and try to get hooked up.

The state park has no open sites for that weekend? Go to http://www.lakecounty.com/Accommodations/Type/Campgrounds.htm to view other camping locations. Most seem to be on the Clearlake Oaks side of the lake. Might be hard for everyone to stay/launch at the same place. Mike mentioned Konocti Vista Casino but the rooms are $89 a night and there is no camping. Called M&M Campground in Clear Lake Oaks and they have sites but no power. Might try calling Clear Lake Resort which states they have camping sites.

Thanks for the heads up Brian. I will be staying in Clear Lake Oaks at M&M Campground. They have some tent spaces and RV space left for that weekend.

Don't forget to get your mussel inspection. I believe you can get it from just about bait shop or resort on the lake.

We are now counting down to the Clear Lake event this weekend. Why are more club members not signed up to fish yet? It will be a great time and the fishing should be good. When you can not get a good turn out for a two day event at one the state/countys best bass fishing lakes, I wonder what is going on. Anyway I will be up there doing my best to tear them up Very Happy .

I'm drooling over Clear Lake but have to work. If I'm lucky I'll get the job I just applied for and have weekends off again and be able to join in some turkey shoots.

To those who are going, have a great weekend and catch 'em!

Just talked with TD Mike. Event format per Mike was to weigh in your biggest fish for each of the two days.

Here are the results:

Mike and Marian Bugliarello -- Total 11lb 11oz (2 fish), big fish 7.21 lb

Ray and Linda Stevens -- Total 7lb 11oz (2 fish).

Nice job Mike for moving into the Big Fish of the Year lead!

Mike reported nice weather both days with Sunday being the hotter of the two (same here in the valley).

Nice going Ray and Mike. Great fish Mike...7+. Where were you fishing and what did you get it on? I noticed that both of you were fishing with your wives. I'm curious who actually caught the fish.

We also fished clear Lake out of Clear lake Oaks for that was the only camping I could find that was still open 2 weeks ago. Dante / myself and Ben / Dustin were the teams. We just did our own mini shoot for the other two teams were on the other side of the lake. Sunday was the best day Dante and I had over the weekend. I got a 4.5# with a five fish limit of 17 lbs all by about 11:00am. We caught all on frogs and shakey heads on Sunday. The rest of the weekend we caught them on jigs, frogs, spinner baits, senkos, and shakey heads. We fished the Oaks and Rattle Snake Island mostly. Took us till Sunday to get a good pattern together, and did not want to leave Sunday after noon. We did not catch a fish under 2.5#. Ben and Dustin did well on Sunday also with a five fish limit of approximaetly 13# all on shakey heads. Next time we plan a tournament this far away we as a club need to get logging planned months in advance so everyone who comes can stay at the same location. If you wait until the month of the tournament to plan you will not be able to do so. All in all it was a very good time. Good food, friends and beer.

Good job Ryan and the rest.
Maybe we can get a yearly t-shoot to clear lake together with everyone on the same page. We need some serious Organization to make this happen. Many did not attend for whatever reasons, mostly the travel and cost.

Thanks Brian it was a good time. Cost was an issues for the group I went with. We camped for $30 dollars a night at M&M Campground in the Oaks. Which was close to very good fishing grounds, gas station, small store, and Limit Out
Tackle. We rented one site and split it four ways, not bad. The place had everything we needed but power to charge batteries. While looking around the bathroom/shower area I found an outdoor power outlet where I was able to charge my batteries for the night.
